Why Creative Taxi Exists

Dear Creative 🪄✨

Dear Creative,

I founded Creative Taxi because I believe:

  1. Everyone is creative.
  2. Creative thought is one of our most valuable resources.

After nearly twenty years leading creative projects, with the last five getting executive coaching and consulting across teams, including on $100M brand strategy, I still saw the same thing everywhere:

Creative is way undervalued.

I saw videos I produced for $1,000 go viral and build new lines of business for a company — over a decade after we produced them.

I saw waves of layoffs at profitable companies disguised as “efficiency” push good people into unexpected transition, burnout, and worse.

I met with creatives weekly, many still fending off burnout, all asking the same question: "Is it like this everywhere?"

The answer: somewhere in between.

Creative Taxi exists to connect the “in-between” for the creative leaders who still show up with heart. A place to help creatives feel seen and validated boldly on the way to your destination; to connect you with the right folks, the right jobs, and the right purpose-driven connections.

In Creative Taxi’s “Year Zero” Impact Report, in partnership with Union Blue & Co., you helped build the engine.

Accelerating Creativity in Numbers:

  • $18,000+ paid directly to artists, solopreneurs, and small businesses for creative work globally. (Excluding all record store spending!! Shout out to Gary of Pat’s Endangered Species Record Store, part inspo for Cabbie. 😸)
  • $1,700+ contributed to Boardman Arts Park in Delaware, Ohio, to help build permanent spaces for art, music, and community connection.
  • 5+ countries of creative collaboration, including artists from Canada, Africa, the Philippines, Romania, and the United States. (California, Hawaii, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, and more)
  • Creativity accelerated every day for 6 months: 1:1 mentoring and career coaching, leading to new jobs, six-month promotions, and guest spots on dream podcasts. (In our first six months!)

Proof we can build different.

The Newman Family first joined Boardman as members, and soon followed up with additional donations — our kids couldn’t visit the park enough for a weekend playdate or to enjoy those extra hot summer days.

Funds raised help pay for local artists to make new art, teach interactive art-making workshops, host and maintain an outdoor gallery, garden library, and so much more — every dollar counts in a way that’s hard to capture in words, pictures, or even a video.

It’s a gem of Delaware and a credit to the leaders and artists who have led the way, including Executive Director Roxanne Amidon and Marketing Lead Rachael Montunnas.

The progress at the park has been stunning, and we’re incredibly proud to play a part in getting artists where they want to go — in ‘26 and beyond we’ll be cruisin’ to the park, and there’s space for your art!

Slowing Down Speeds You Up

Sometimes the best thing you can do is slow down and expand into your creative instincts. Zoom out and see where you what to end up, then construct the plan to get there. That's what I've been doing and will continue to do into '26, and I'm so excited to share a ton of what we've been working on: a podcast, a completely refreshed website, shop + career resources, with so much more on the way!

Visit https://www.creative.taxi/ to see the new coat of paint, and let us know what you'd like to see next. We're working on an purpose-driven artist's directory for Central Ohio and we've published a list of free and accessible art classes and resources in Central Ohio. Creative Taxi Radio is on its way in '26 co-hosted with Carra Sykes, a short-form podcast with candid conversations about work-life as a creative!

A portion of all proceeds from the goods benefit Boardman Arts Park. You can see (and track) more on our Impact page going forward: We're looking forward to bringing more great art + artists to the park next year, and we appreciate your ongoing support. (Wanna help us build a garage for toys?)

🌈 Creative Fuel ⛽

What would it look like for you to slow down and expand into your creativity?

Peace,
Andy
